Spread The Love: July

Ooh look at this; it’s a new fancy-pants series here on realityleaveslotstoimagination. Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls: Welcome to ‘Spread The Love’, the new monthly post where I share with you a couple of the posts by fellow bloggers I’ve been loving over the past month. I thought this would be an oh so lovely way to wrap up the month, as well as giving a selection of bloggers the recognition they truly deserve and introducing my readers to their blogs.
Enough chat; let’s get cracking:

“Wanderlust is an all consuming metaphorical wave. It invades your being, coating each and every cell and nerve and every electrical impulse flowing through your body with this resolute desire. To backpack across Thailand. To camp out under the stars in California. To ride around Italy on a mint green moped and eat pizza, lots of pizza.”
As terribly cheesy as it sounds, words can’t describe how madly in love I am with Lauryn’s blog. She has such a beautiful way of writing that I’m completely in awe of and all her posts are so detailed and personal that they just pull you in instantly. I could literally post a million links to posts of hers that I loved, but this one holds a special place in my heart. “Wanderlust” is such a wonderfully written post and I can definitely relate to her desire to travel; to see the word; to experience new cultures. The feeling when you’re at an airport, waiting to board the plan that will take you to a new mysterious magical location is just incredible. I don’t want to go into too much detail about the wonders of Lauryn’s beautiful post because I really want you to be able to experience every ounce of it, but honestly just go read it.

“I know how easy it is to get caught up in the stresses of general everyday life and forget about the little things that can make a difference each day, its scaring to think how quick each day goes so I thought I would share some of the little things that have made me happy this week!”
On the whole, as a nation, Britain is so darn good at moaning. It’s a bit of a British trait isn’t it really; moaning about anything and everything? We spend most of our lives focusing on the negative things rather than appreciating the positive. I’m a sucker for a good ‘what makes me happy’ style post. It’s so lovely to see people really appreciate the good things in their lives, which is why I absolutely loved Gemma’s “Because I’m Happy” post. I can definitely relate to a fair few of the points she made in this post, in particular ‘getting post’ (who doesn’t love it when the postman delivers something for you? Unless it’s a bill of course), ‘talking to friends’ (if you know me you’ll know I love a good old natter, particularly those conversations that can go on forever and ever without you running out of something to chat about) and ‘taking late night walks on the beach’ (something I’ve definitely been taking advantage of since I’ve been in Greece). Gemma’s blog is a personal favourite of mine. You can definitely tell through her writing, just how passionate she is about blogging and the topics she’s discussing. Do make sure you head on over to her blog and give it lots of love, she really deserves it for being such a fantastic blogger.

"I was asking myself this on the long car journey over to Northern Ireland. I've never really questioned why I blog and just accepted that I do."

I am completely in awe of this post. Honestly, I don’t think a blog post has ever made me think as much as this one did. What’s crazy about it is, it’s just a mere 5 sentences, but those 5 sentences left me thinking for so long. Why do I blog? Where did this passion for blogging come from? To be honest, I don’t know. But I do know that blogging is something I’ve fallen completely and utterly in love with, and I can’t imagine my life without sitting down at my laptop three times a week to write. My blog is the one place I can truly express myself without feeling judged and really, blogging just relaxes me. I really recommend you pop on over to Beth’s lovely blog and have a think for yourself; why do you blog?
