The Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty

I saw this post done by Aislyn, about seven deadly beauty sins and she tagged anyone in it, so i thought i'd give it a go!

Greed ~ What is your most expensive beauty item?
I don't tend to spend loads on beauty things, but i do have a weakness for soap and glory products, so probably one of those products.

Wrath ~ Which beauty item do you have a love/hate relationship with?
Foundation! For some reason i sometimes struggle to make the same foundation look the same two days running! One day it can give me a perfect coverage, and look natural whilst the next day it can give me a poor coverage and look orange!

Gluttony ~ What brand makes up the biggest chunk of your makeup collection?
Either Collection or Seventeen, as i use those two brands for most of my skin products.

Sloth ~ What product do you neglect to use due to laziness?
Eyeliner! I never wear it, purely because i'm too lazy to stand for ages to make it look nice! So i just don't try.

Pride ~ What beauty product gives you the most confidence?
Foundation or Concealer, as they cover up all my blemishes, which boosts my confidence so much. I never leave the house without wearing them, because i have so little confidence without them!

Lust ~ Which item is at the top of your beauty wish list?
Essie nail polishes! I have used them before but they were borrowed from friends so i'd love to buy some of my own.

Envy ~ What make-up product/look is great on others but not on yourself?
Bright lipstick! I think it's because of the shade of my skin, but it just looks weird on me yet amazing on other people i know!

I tag these amazing blogs to do this tag ~

OOTD: Summer Night Out

So i had tickets to go and see Mcfly at Wembley Arena last saturday night, on the last night of their tour. This was something i had been looking forward to since i got the tickets for my birthday as mcfly are one of my favourite bands and for various reasons i haven't been able to see them live since their first tour! Sadly i fell on my hip about 3 hours before the concert so i ended up spending my evening in A&E instead! Luckily i had done nothing serious but i was so gutted i missed the gig! Hopefully i'll get to see them in September for their anniversary shows instead!
This is what i was planning to wear on Saturday, obviously i don't have a photo of what it looks like on me as i never got round to putting it on but the next time i wear it i'll do another OOTD!
Flower Crochet Detail Shirt ~ Topshop
Shell Pink Crochet Trim Cardigan ~ New Look
Nude Ballet Pumps ~ New Look

I absolutely love each of these items so together this is one of my most favourite summer outfits ever! The superskinny jeans from River Island are my staple clothing piece this summer, they seem to go with pretty much anything and their actually really comfy! As are the nude ballet pumps - i have two pairs i wear them so much! They're super comfy and practical yet pretty at the same time.

What's your staple fashion item this summer?

Summer Hair: Tousled Waves

The summer hair i'm loving at the moment is the tousled beachy waves style - it's looks so natural and effortless, and it's really easy to achieve!

My hair naturally has the wavy tousled look, and i love it. It's quite effortless, i hardly have to use any products at all to get my hair just the way i want it.

I use herbal essences tousle me softly shampoo and conditioner (£3.89 each from Boots), once every two days and i shampoo it twice to get a great tousled look. On days i haven't washed my hair i use the herbal essences tousle me softly finishing touch cream (£4.79 from Boots) to give it that extra tousled look.

One trick i do use is letting my hair dry naturally! I tend to either wash my hair before bed and let it dry overnight or wash my hair early in the morning and leave it to dry naturally throughout the day.

OOTD: Formal Party

OOTD: Formal Party

This was supposed to be posted at the end of april but because i've only just got my laptop back after a month without it, i can only post it now!

This is what i wore to my mum and dad's silver wedding anniversary party in april! The picture is rubbish as i'm waiting for the professional ones to come through but it shows off the outfit pretty well.

Dress ~ Miss Selfridge
Shoes ~ Brantano

For my hair, I pinned a section of hair from the front, to the back of my head and secured it with some grips.
My nails were painted in Essie "Ballet Slippers".

A source of inspiration

Everyone has down days. Days where nothing seems to be going right and you feel like doing nothing but crying. I've had more than my fair share in the past! But I've always found that certain things - whether it's a special song or your favourite book - can cheer you up and make things seem less bad.

I have a playlist on my iPod filled with these 'special songs' that instantly put a smile on my face and make me feel better, and I take my iPod pretty much everywhere with me just in case I ever need this inspiration to keep going.

Here are some inspirational songs you should check out

I Won't Give Up ~ Jason Mraz
Fall ~ Justin Bieber
Stronger ~ Kelly Clarkson
The Climb ~ Miley Cyrus
The World's Greatest ~ R. Kelly
Breakaway ~ Kelly Clarkson
Born To Be Somebody ~ Justin Bieber
We Are Shooting Stars ~ Ronan Parke
Mean ~ Taylor Swift
Believe ~ Justin Bieber
Just Keep Breathing~We Are The Kings
Beautiful ~ Christina Aguilera
Firework ~ Katy Perry

The other thing that cheers me up are pictures. Not just photos of past events in your life, but all those inspirational photos with lovely quotes on them (tumblr is filled with them). I have a sideshow of them on my phone so they're always there if I need some quick inspiration. They're a random mix of happy thoughts that just make me smile and they help me remember that everything will be ok.

I remember sitting on my own at school a few weeks ago just watching the photos appear on my phone. I'd been taken out of lesson by my head of year as I was in a lot of pain (due to a problem I've been struggling with for about 2 years) and not coping very well at all with it all. Simply just reading through these quotes to myself helped me stop myself crying and made me feel a bit better about everything.

Everyone needs to have their own little thing that makes them feel better and I really recommend you find yours! Try the songs I suggested or maybe try saving lovely photos to your phone, you never know it might work for you! Why don't you comment and tell me what you do when you're feeling down, you never know it could help someone else!

Lots of love
