A Few of My Favourite Bloggers

I follow absolutely loads of lovely blogs and they all give me so much inspiration for what i post and as well as that their posts sort of give me a boost as a person if that makes sense? Some of them are blogs that are followed my thousands, others have less than 50 followers but it just prooves that you don't have to have loads of people reading everything you post for it to mean something to your readers? I get something out of reading all of them - they make me feel betting in myself. So i owe quite a lot to all of them! And because of that i wanted to share all of their blogs! I'm not going to write about why i love their blogs because i'll be here forever (honestly) but i think if you just take a look at their blogs it'll be pretty obvious! And i can't post all of them so i picked out my top 2 'big blogs' and my top two 'smaller blogs' for you guys! So here they are...

Memories

I love memories. I love how you can have one amazing day that seems to go on forever because of the fantastic photos/videos/keepsakes you have from it. And no matter how long it's been since you've had that little adventure, looking at what might just be some useless object to someone else, brings back all the memories of that day.

Im lucky that I have lots of lovely memories. Like the times my grandparents took me to the fair, the first time I met Ronan Parke, my trips to Greece in 2010 and 2012, all the concerts I've been to in my life, days out and the amazing weekend in Belgium I had with my school friends in March. Each of these memories are individual to me, and I love that. I am the person I am today because of my past – these memories.
Ive always kept souvenirs. A few months ago I went through I box my dad got down from the loft for me and I found concert tickets, postcards, train/bus tickets, photos and lots more little random things that can't really be put into a category, from various trips out when I was younger, Looking through them almost instantly I was transported back in my mind to that day.
Above my bed in my room I have a notice board. Its just a cheap one from argos but I love it (You can buy it here). I have filled it with most of the things from the box, along with some of my favourite photos, quotes, leaflets ect. So when Im having a bad day I can just look at my memory board and be reminded of all the happy times.
Its all my favourite moments from my life piled into one space.

And now you get to giggle at some of my old photos...

Hope you enjoyed this! And maybe comment and tell me about some of your favourite memories yeah?

Tried and Tested Update: St Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Blemish Fighting Scrub

I know i said i'd test this product for a month before telling you what i think but i'm too excited to wait! So here you go...

I love love love love love this scrub! I'd tried hundreds and thousands of scrubs and none of them worked for me. But my mum suggested this scrub to me when i went to Tesco with her, because she has used the brand before and i'm so happy she did! Immediately after using the scrub for the first time my skin felt softer and looked alot healthier! And this continued everytime i used it! I've been using it about once every 2 days, so in total i using it 3-4 times a week, which is what is recommended on the bottle and it is fab. My skin isn't great, i get lots of break outs and blemishes but since using this product, lots of my breakouts have cleared up and i'm waking up to less and less spots every day! And it's been alot easier for me to put make-up on! It sits better and i don't have to pile it one to hide spots, which is helping my skin even more!

I know i probably sound like one of those TV adverts where they try to make the product sound as amazing as physically possible but it's true! This scrub really works! My skin looks healthier and nicer, and because of that i feel more confident! I'd really recommend this to anyone - if you have bad skin or not!

You are beautiful.

These days you can't log on to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr ect without seeing at least 10 posts from people about how they are not happy with themselves. It's mainly girls. It seems that in some peoples weird heads, you are not beautiful unless you are stick thin, blonde, tanned, spot-free and wear the latest clothes. Wrong.

I'll admit, i don't like standing out from the croud. It feels weird, you feel like people are staring at you because you're wearing different shoes/clothes/make-up to everyone else. Really you should embrace it. Everyone is beautiful in their own way.

Whether you are still at school or not you will understand what i'm talking about. Non-school uniform days. Days that while you look forward to them, you end up dreading. You feel that people are going to judge you based on what you wear so your outfit must be perfect. Walking through school you feel like all eyes are on you and you 'far from perfect' outfit. I'll admit, i do this alot. I spend most of my life comparing myself to others for some reason, and non-school uniform days are a good example of this. But i don't see why these days need to be so stressful. The idea is it's fun and easy so it's a good way of raising money for good causes. There shouldn't be little imaginary contests between people over who has the best outfit. It should be a time where everyone can wear what they want and be happy in their chosen outfit. It's a time for people to be creative with styles and show off the real them. Not a day when hundreds of girls come dressed in pretty much the same outfit and then battle out in their heads over who looks the best.

Every person in the world is made differently. No two babies (even identical twins) are born looking exactly the same. Why do we need to change this in later life? Dying our hair because it's the wrong colour, wearing fake tan because we're too pale, wearing tonnes of make-up because you don't have the best skin in the world. We all do it at some point. Change something about us because we don't think it fits in with the croud. Whether it be something small like wearing eye-liner or something huge like plastic surgery. Why? There is nobody like you in the world so why do you need to look like someone else?

If you're reading this thinking "i do that quite a bit" stop. I know i sound like such a hypocrite telling you to stop doing something because it's wrong, when i do it myself, but i know that what i do is stupid and i try to tell myself over and over that it is wrong but somehow i can't stop. It's how i am and how i always will be. But if you can stop beating yourself up about something as stupid as clothes, why don't you?

One things for sure, this 'fashion battle' trend will probably go on for all time if we don't stop doing it in our heads. We just need to somehow drill in the message that we are individuals, we should embrace that not hide it away. Just be yourself instead of trying to be someone you're not. Everyone is beautiful and should be confident in their own skin. And being different is the most beautiful thing in the world. So why change?

Remembrance Sunday

Today is the 11th November - Remembrance Sunday. I watched the ceremony this morning and it was absolutely beautiful. My thoughts go out to all the families of soldiers that have sadly left us, and those soldiers who are still out there fighting for our country.

Last March i went on a 4 day trip with my school to France and Belgium. While we were there were visited so many graves and learnt so many stories. And i was lucky enough to be able to experience the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ypres, Belgium. The ceremony is to Honor the soldiers, of the former British empire and it's allies, that died in and around Ypres in the first world war. This ceremony takes place at 8pm every evening, and has done since 1928 (except for a time during the second world war, when it took place at a memorial in the UK) and it was an absolutely incredible thing to be able to experience. It was highly emotional but it was something that i will never forget, and all in all that was the best part of the trip for me so if you ever get the chance to experience it, go. You won't regret it at all. It really brings home to you exactly what happened during the war and how many men lost their lives, for their country.

RIP to every soldier that has died fighting for their country, you will never be forgotten. And respect for all the service men and women that are currently fighting. All the country is so proud of you.

These photos aren't from the Last Post ceremony, because as a sign of respect, i didn't take any photos whilst i was there. But these are from other places i visited whilst in Belgium.

Anxiety

I've never found it easy to talk about this sort of thing but a recent YouTube video made by Zoella (www.zoella.co.uk/), has made me realise that it's not something i should be really embarrased to talk about, because lots of other people, suffer from the same thing. I'm talking about anxiety.

When you're a teenager, lots of stuff happens that's is upsetting or stressful. Anyone that has ever been a teenager can tell you that. But some people find these sorts of things alot harder to deal with. And sadly sometimes the stress and worry can be too much. There are days where you just want to stop and cry.

I've never been very good at dealing with worries. When i was 10 was off school for about a week and i had to see doctor after doctor because of 'stomach problems' i'd been having, and after one long day at a hospital, which had included me just breaking down in tears because of the pain, i was told i would have to stay in for them to keep an eye on me. Then the main doctor took my mum and dad out to another room and left me with some nice play leaders who sat and chatted to me and tried to take my mind of it. When the doctor and my mum and dad returned, it had turned out that they had left to try and relax me to see if that stopped alot of the pain. It did, so i was told that i suffered from anxiety pains in my stomach. Over the next few months i worked with various people to find ways of dealing with my anxiety. I learnt things like staring at a clock could help me calm down. That was around 4 years ago and i still use those methods when i feel like i'm getting worked up. Nobody in my secondary school knows about my anxiety. I would try to hide it because i felt ashamed about what people would think. But that is one of my biggest regrets when it comes to my anxiety. Sitting there, hiding how i was feeling, was making it worse. If i was told i had to perform a solo, i would sit there and worry and get all stressed out, and sometimes make myself ill. I've never had a panic attack, but i've been close to having one, and trying to sit here and type how i was feeling is impossible. It was horrible so i don't know how i would cope if i actually had a panic attack.

As i've grown up i've realised that i shouldn't hide how i'm feeling. Now if i'm feeling anxious about anything i have a quiet word with someone i trust, like a friend, teacher or my parents. I know saying that i sound like one of those anti-bullying adverts that you always see on TV, but it's true. I started my gcse's in september and so far i have managed to keep my stress level down, most of the time, and i've found little ways to help me if i feel like i'm struggling. I try to plan nice things to do after school or at a weekend, so i have things to look forward to if i'm having a bad week. I treat myself to my favourite unhealthy snack after school or i plan sleepovers with my friends - i find a girly night in with the people i love the most always helps.

I wanted to right this to share my story of anxiety in the hope that i can help at least one person with anxiety. I have stuggled to write this, it has taken me ages but i just wanted to try and write something that will benefit other people. I know how horrible it can feel, but you just need to hang on in there and try to think as positive as you can. Don't hide your anxiety, it will make it worse. I know it feels hard to talk about but i promise you it will help. Why don't you do what i've done and blog about your experience? I'm starting to get over my anxiety problems and i know that one day you will too.

P.S: Watch Zoella's video on anxiety. It's one of the best i've ever seen! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-iNOFD27G4&feature=plcp

Christmas Lists

As it's now November, it's now okay to admit to writing your Christmas lists, even though most of us have been writing them since august! I was a little bit rubbish last year and didn't write one. Big Mistake. Cue all of my family (and i have a big family) ringing me up the week before Christmas asking me what i wanted. To be honest, i can't remember what i got from any of them, so i couldn't have thought of very good things.

I’ve spent most of the last month trying to think of what I would like to get. I’m quite big on getting practical stuff – things that I will use lots and not use for a month and then forget about for the next 10 years. I couldn’t think of anything I want for ages and then it felt like the minuet I start to get some ideas, my mind goes mad with ideas, and obviously I can’t have all of them. Sad times. I’ve asked my parents for an iPhone 4s – my theory is, that now the iPhone 5 has come out, it will be easier (and cheaper) to buy the 4s online as people will be buying the new one.  I very much doubt that I will get an iPhone but I really need a new phone as my one is terrible so I have my fingers crossed!

I'm quite interested this year in subscribing to either glossy box or jolie box (monthly beauty boxes full of lovely beauty products)! If any of you get them, comment and tell me what you think and whether or not i should get it?

I’d love to hear about what you all are putting down on your Christmas list so feel free to comment and tell me about it!

November Wish List

It's only the 6th November but already i've seen a million and one things i could add to my November wish list! I'm going to have to start saving up my pennies so i can buy them! But at the rate i save i'll probably still not have enough by November 2022!

One website caught my eye a few days ago when i was reading an amazing blog called 'A beautiful mess' and it is called chickwish.com! It's full of beautiful clothes that i absolutely adore! I'll definitely be popping back onto it to buy myself a few cheeky presents at Christmas! (sssshhh nobody needs to know!) But i would honestly recommend you check it out! It's got a little bit of everything - clothes, bags, shoes, jewellery and more!

This is only a quick little post so i'm only going to feature one it don't panic you'll be seeing a lot more of this fab website in my future posts! But for now, why don't you go check out www.chickwish.com for yourself and maybe comment and tell me what you think?

$62 . 90 (about £39)

I'm a huge fan of vintage style dresses, so i absolutely love this! The peter pan lace collar is beautiful and i especially love the colour - it's perfect for those autumn parties! And it's the type of dress that you can really wear throughout the year - for both casual and formal events! And it's not too pricey, like most vintage style dresses, so you can look amazing without blowing a hole in your pocket!
I'd rate this 5*

Tried And Tested: Naturally Clear Blemish & Blackhead Control Apricot Scrub

Hello!

So I thought I should start doing some ‘Tried and Tested’ posts, testing various beauty products, including shampoos/conditioners, skin products, make-up and other beauty products I think you’ll like. Each trial will last around a month so I can really see how the product works over a long period, but to make it more interesting I’m going to trial one skin/hair product and one make-up product per month. Each day of each trial I’m going to write down a little bit about how my skin is and how I’m finding the product. At the end of each month test, I will blog about my findings for you to read!

The first product I am going to test is the St Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub Blemish & Blackhead Control

“Effectively lifts away surface oils and dirt that can lead to blackheads and blemishes”

The brand was recommended to be by my mum, whilst I was searching for an exfoliator scrub that was suitable for my blemish-prone skin. I’ve heard of the brand but I’d never used any of their products so I am quite excited to see what happens! I choose the product because it is specially made for oily/blemish prone skin. I also liked the sound of the apricot smell. According to the St Ives Website: " APRICOTS are known to contain one of the highest levels of carotenoids (think vitamin A) and super-effective antioxidants. All of this natural power might seem, well, too powerful, but they are actually quite gentle and nourishing and they help make fresher, more nourished skin beautifully possible." . The product also contains Corn Kernel Meal. "Corn Kernel Meal is actually flour ground from dried corn. It’s a soft, but gently powerful all-natural exfoliant that promotes skin cell turnover and regeneration." and Walnut "Walnut is known for its hard shell, but when it’s ground, it becomes an amazingly effective, all-natural exfoliant ingredient in our scrubs. Not only are walnuts plentiful on the planet, they also help newer, healthier skin come to the surface." Cornmeal makes softer-feeling, fresher skin possible. St Ives is meant to be the UK’s #1 Scrub brand so I am expecting good things to come from using this product.

Wish me luck!

P.S: If you have any products you would like me to test, comment them and i'll do my best :)

A little story about rain...

It is now finally winter in Britain (ish). The temperature dropped quite quickly and it's been raining bucket loads! I volunteer at the exotic pet refuge in deeping, and i'm there for 3 1/2 hours on sunday mornings so i'm really starting to feel it! Today it was a lovely temperature of 4 degrees. I looked stunning in my jeans, 3 pairs of socks, wellies, a t-shirt, a jumper and this horrible green waterproof jacket my mum gave me to wear. To be honest i'm quite inpractical - i don't like coats very much and only one one warm black one which is quite nice and i didn't want to ruin. So my mum, being the generous lady she is lent me her bottle green pac-a-mac. It was honestly my idea of hell! I'm sure you can picture me looking as stunning as i did. So i bundled myself into the car and off to the refuge. It turned a few of us had got there at the wrong time as we hadn't been told we were starting early this week, so i spent 30 minuets outside waiting for my dad to return with the nice warm car. Several cars drove past on what is normally the quietest road ever, and the drivers had a laugh at the girl standing under a tree in the pouring rain, wearing a greet coat that made her look like a frog. Lovely.

I promise i won't babble on about rain all the time but all i can say is i don't expect to hear "it's just drizzle" or "it's only spitting" used in conversation that much over the next few months!

If you are sad like me and have any funny/interesting stories to tell me about the rain, comment them!
And thankyou for reading!

November Goals

I'm the queen of procrastination. If i don't decide on things that i must do, i'm likely to spend my whole life on my laptop. So i've set myself some goals for November ~

  1. See my friends more. I hardly ever see my friends outside school so this month i would like to meet up with them more, maybe going to the cinema or having them over or something.
  2. Exercise More. Apart from biking a mile (to school and back) everyday, walking my dog with my dad occasionally and doing 5 dance classes a week, i never exercise. So this month i would like to go out for a jog or spend more time on the trampoline or something.
  3. Practise Dance More. I'm getting higher up the dance grades at the moment (i do Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Theatre Craft and Musical Theatre) and i'm doing Dance for GCSE but i hardly ever practise and that is impacting on my dancing so i'd like to practise more and go to all of my lessons.
  4. Read More. I'd like to spend more time reading and less time on my laptop! If possible i'd like to read one book every 2 weeks.
  5. Save my money. I tend to spend my monthly pocket money quite soon after i get it but i'd like to start saving it rather than spending it on things i don't really need.
  6. Stop getting so stressed about everything. I've been getting anxiety tummy aches since i was 10 and recently they've been getting worse so i want to relax more.
  7. Spend more time with my family. My family are really important to me so i'd like to spend more time with them, even if it's just chatting to them for a bit everyday.
I normally make goals and never actually do them but this time i will do it! I'll blog about how it went at the start of next month! Wish me luck ;D

Lots of Love

Welcome To My Blog!

Hello and welcome to my blog - Reality Leaves Lots To Imagination!

I don't tend to like the whole ginormous about me paragraphs cause they make most people sound really self obsessed so i'm going to do this in confession form!

Here we go...

1) I'm a giant (5'9) and i hate it!
2) I'm scared of pretty much anything with wings, especially chickens!
3) I have a passion for photography
4) I hold grudges for a really long time!
5) I love boys with lovely accents! Especially liverpool accents!
6) I hate it when people can't accept that other people have different opinions to them.
7) I hate it when people say lol during a normal conversation. If its funny, laugh.
8) Hugs are the best thing ever.
9) I hate text speak with an absolute passion.
10) I love musical theatre but i hate performing in front of people.
11) I prefer alot of older music to most of the current artists.
12) I speak to my dog in german.
13) I love long car journeys in the dark!
14) I don't go anywhere without my phone and my iPod
15) I love phone calls, but only if people ring me first!
16) I'll happily admit that i flirt quite alot.
17) I apparently have a northen accent, which is weird cause i don't live anywhere near there.
18) I'm always scared of saying what i truly feel incase it hurts someones feelings.
19) It doesn't matter how much i hate you, if you're crying i'll want to hug you.
20) I'm a strong believer in there being someone out there that is perfect for everyone, you just have to wait until you find them.

Thankyou for reading!
